BNA Board Elections

Per our by-laws, we will be holding elections for Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer of the BNA. Nominations for these positions should be emailed to contact@byramneighbors.org. We are leaving the nominations open a little longer and will send another email out a few days before the meeting with any updates.

The roles/responsibilities of BNA officers are as follows:

Chairperson / Vice Chairperson

  • Appoints Committees

  • Represents the BNA, or appoints an alternate representative, at meetings of other organizations and government bodies.

  • Chairs full BNA and executive committee meetings.

  • Creates, or requests, correspondence with other entities or persons on matters of BNA interest to express the views of the BNA or to advocate for specific actions.

  • Provide a point of contact for BNA members, other community associations, interest groups, and government bodies.

Treasurer

  • Collects and deposits membership contributions or other funds acquired by the BNA.

  • Distributes and spends funds per executive committee or board approvals.

  • Prepares and presents to the BNA an Annual Report of finances and interim reports as requested by the Executive Committee or BNA members.

  • Maintains financial records and prepares legal forms as required by Federal, State and local entities.

Secretary

  • Maintains minutes and records of all meetings.

  • Maintains a current roster of membership.

  • Issue notices of membership meetings.

Candidates for Public Office

All of the State Representative and State Senate candidates representing Districts 4 and 4A have been invited to address BNA members for a few minutes each at this meeting. This is a great opportunity to get to know the candidates and to hear how they can support Byram. The candidates are (in alphabetical order):
